CIMB Implements ‘Lock Clicks ID’ Feature For Its CIMB Clicks And CIMB OCTO Apps

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 18 (Bernama) — CIMB Bank Berhad and CIMB Islamic Bank Berhad (collectively “CIMB” or “the Bank”) today announced that it has introduced a self-service ‘Lock Clicks ID’ feature which acts as a ‘kill switch’ for both its CIMB Clicks App (“CIMB Clicks”) and CIMB OCTO App (“CIMB OCTO”) effective 16 January 2023. The new feature will enable customers to immediately freeze their online banking ID (“CIMB Clicks ID”) in-app if they detect any unusual or suspicious transactions or suspect that their account has been compromised.

Once the Lock Clicks ID is activated, users will be automatically logged out of CIMB Clicks and/or CIMB OCTO. Once a CIMB Clicks ID is locked, users will not be able to log in and any new out-going transactions cannot be performed. The feature is one of the enhanced anti-scam measures that CIMB is implementing in line with Bank Negara Malaysia’s (“BNM”) direction on additional measures to strengthen banking security.
