HAVANA, Jan 14 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) — Cuba and India on Friday have strengthened their bilateral relations following the official visit paid by India´s State for Foreign and Cultural Affairs Minister Meenakashi Lekhi.
During her official visit, Meenakashi Lekhi was welcomed by Cuba´s Acting Foreign Minister Gerardo Peñalver who thanked India for its permanent support for Cuba’s resolution against US blockade.
Meenakashi Lekhi expressed her country’s willingness to continue strengthening political talks as well as economic and cooperation relations between the two countries.
According to the Cuban Foreign Ministry (MINREX), both sides reviewed major issues on bilateral and multilateral agenda, highlighting Meenakashi Lekhi´s visit to Cuba coinciding with the 63rd anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations and Cuba´s G77+China pro tempore presidency assumption.
Both diplomats praised Cuba and India hold common stances on defense of the International Law principles, multilateralism and the legitimate rights of developing countries. — NNN-PRENSA LATINA
