RAMALLAH, Jan 13 (NNN-WAFA) – Another Palestinian man was killed yesterday, during an Israeli raid, at the Qalandia refugee camp, north of Jerusalem, the Palestinian health ministry said in a statement.
Awni Aslan, 41, was killed by Israeli soldiers, after he was shot in the chest, when the Israelis stormed the refugee camp, according to the statement.
There has been no immediate comment by the Israeli authorities on the incident, but Israeli media reported that, an Israeli army unit stormed the refugee camp to arrest Palestinians wanted by Israel.
The report added that, the Israeli soldiers arrested several Palestinians.
Palestinian eyewitnesses said, Aslan was killed while he was trying to prevent the Israeli soldiers from arresting his son, Ramzi Aslan, after the soldiers stormed their home in the refugee camp.
Eyewitnesses said, the Israeli army arrested 15 Palestinians before leaving the refugee camp.
In the northern West Bank city of Nablus, at least 10 Palestinian demonstrators were injured by Israeli soldiers, during clashes that broke out yesterday, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society said in a statement.
Palestinian security sources said, an Israeli army unit stormed the city and tried to arrest Palestinians wanted by Israel, adding, clashes broke out between dozens of Palestinians and the Israeli soldiers.
Israeli soldiers have been carrying out daily raids on Palestinian towns, villages, and refugee camps, in the West Bank, to arrest Palestinian militants involved in carrying out shooting attacks at the soldiers and the Israeli settlers.– NNN-WAFA
