ALGIERS, Jan 6 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) — Algerian Culture and Arts Minister Soraya Mouloudji and Cuban ambassador to Algeria Armando Vergara on Thursday discussed future cultural cooperation projects.
Both officials exchanged views on bilateral relations, praising significance of strengthening ties in all areas for mutual benefit.
Among short-term agreements are the efforts by the Algerian Ministry to establish a Higher Institute of Cinema, the first of its kind in Algeria, in order to train students in cinema techniques.
In this regard, Mouloudji proposed to the Cuban diplomat to make hay of Cuba’s experience, hosting specialists to organize workshops and training courses from Cuban institutes.
Plus, Mouloudji envisaged forming a joint committee to draw up a road map for some joint film works.
Another aspect in which both sides will exchange experience is restoration of heritage and historical monuments.
During the meeting, Vergara gave Mouloudji an official invitation on behalf of the Cuban Culture Ministry to attend the international conference on the occasion of the 170th anniversary of Poet and National Hero José Martí´s birth, to be held from Jan 24 to 28. — NNN-PRENSA LATINA
