LIMA, Jan 4 (NNN-ANDINA) — Public investment execution totaled S/46.592 billion (around US$12.235 billion) in 2022, recording a nominal growth of 20.1% compared to 2021 (S/38.785 billion or US$10.153 billion), the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) reported.
Public investment by the National Government amounted to S/16.840 billion (about US$4.422 billion) last year, posting a 3.2% rise compared to 2021, when it was S/16,314 billion (about US$4,284 billion).
Meanwhile, public investment execution by regional governments totaled S/9.246 billion (around US$2.428 billion), a 32.6% growth from 2021 (S/6.971 billion or US$1.830 billion).
On the other hand, the amount of public investment executed by local governments in 2022 was S/20.504 billion (about US$5.384 billion), posting an expansion of 32.2% compared to 2021 (S/15.499 billion or US$4.070 billion).
It should be noted that public investment execution reached S/38.785 billion (around US$10.185 billion) in 2021, recording a nominal growth of 36.9% compared to 2020 (S/28.318 billion or US$7.436 billion), in a year in which the COVID-19 pandemic affected most economic activities.
Similarly, public investment execution totaled S/8.769 billion (about US$2.302 billion) last December, which posted a nominal expansion of 24.8% over the same month in 2021 (S/7.024 billion or US$1.844 billion).
In this sense, public investment by the National Government amounted to S/2.580 billion (around US$677 million) in the last month of 2022, a 0.7% rise compared to the same month in 2021 (S/2.562 billion or US$672 million).
In the same way, public investment execution by regional governments totaled S/1.774 billion (about US$465 million) in December last year, a 33.7% increase over the same month in 2021 (S/1.326 billion or US$348 million).
Meanwhile, the amount of public investment executed by local governments in December 2022 was S/4.414 billion (about US$1.159 billion), up 40.8% compared to the same month in 2021 (S/3.135 billion or US$823 million).
Thus, public investment execution in 2022 has been as follows: January (-18.8%), February (-19.6%), March (-6.9%), April (8.1%), May (1.3 %), June (15%), July (38.1%), August (22.7%), September (23.1%), October (44.3%), November (65.06%), and December (24.8%). — NNN-ANDINA
