RAMALLAH, Dec 26 (NNN-WAFA) – Dozens of Palestinians participated in a vigil yesterday, in the West Bank city of Ramallah, demanding the return of bodies of Palestinians killed in conflicts by Israeli soldiers.
The Palestinian national campaign organised the protest to bring back Palestinian corpses, which Israel has kept for years. The participants, waving Palestinian flags and pictures of the dead, chanted: “We want our children.”
The families of those killed said in a statement that, they call on international and human rights organisations to pressure the Israeli authorities to hand over the bodies.
The statement said, the corpses are held in mortuary refrigerators and the so-called “graves of numbers,” adding that, the families’ activities will continue until the bodies are returned.
Israel is currently holding over 100 corpses of Palestinians, who carried out or attempted to carry out attacks against Israel, since 2015, and refuses to return them to their families.– NNN-WAFA
