TEHRAN, Dec 26 (NNN-IRIB) – Iran’s naval forces, seized 115,000 litres of smuggled fuel, in the country’s southern waters.
The naval forces discovered the smuggled fuel cargo, in proximity to Qeshm Island, while patrolling the nearby waters, Chief Justice of Hormuzgan Province, Mojtaba Qahremani, was quoted as saying.
The smugglers intended to transfer the fuel from the coast to high-speed vessels, using two plastic containers, he added.
The smuggled fuel, with an estimated value of 787,500 U.S. dollars, has been handed over to the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company, Qahremani noted.– NNN-IRIB
