Brick Kiln Explosion Killed Nine In Bihar

NEW DELHI, Dec 25 (NNN-PTI) – At least nine people were killed and eight others injured, after a chimney of a brick kiln exploded, in the eastern Indian state of Bihar, officials said, yesterday.

The chimney exploded Friday evening, at Narirgir village in East Champaran district, about 154 km north of Patna, the capital city of Bihar.

“Last evening, in an explosion at a brick kiln here, nine people were killed and eight others injured,” an official posted at East Champaran district magistrate office said. “The injured are undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Raxaul.”

The dead included the owner of the brick kiln, and other victims were identified as labourers working there.

Following the explosion rescuers and police rushed to the spot to carry out the rescue work.– NNN-PTI
