ADDIS ABABA, Dec 21 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) — Around 8.3 million citizens have received humanitarian aid since the signing of the peace agreement (November 2), the Disaster Risk Management Commission of Ethiopia revealed on Tuesday.
According to the Commission, after the agreement signed by the Government and the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF), the unfolding of the aid program has been stable in Afar, Amhara, and Tigray, regions that were affected by the conflict that broke out in November 2020.
Exactly, 8,358,196 Ethiopians have received assistance after the agreement was signed to cease hostilities between the federal army and the TPLF, in Pretoria, South Africa.
Twenty-nine international agencies are involved in relief operations in the Tigray region, the text stresses, thanking those organizations for their unrestricted humanitarian aid.
The Commission also called on international partners and donors to speed up the delivery of medicines, food and other staples in the war-torn areas. — NNN-PRENSA LATINA
