COLOMBO, Dec 17 (NNN-PSM) – Over 70 people were injured, after a fire broke out at an accommodation block, on industrial island, K. Gulhifalhu of the Maldives yesterday, local media reported.
A police spokesperson was quoted by local media as saying that, the fire was reported to the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF), and firefighters were immediately dispatched to the site.
Police said, 76 people have been hospitalised with injuries and six of them were seriously injured.
The cause of the fire has not been identified yet, but the police are investigating the incident, the local media reported.– NNN-PSM
