Chinese Film Festival Held In Serbia

BELGRADE, Dec 15 (NNN-XINHUA) – A Chinese Film Festival, opened yesterday, at the Yugoslavian Cinematheque in Belgrade, bringing some of the most popular Chinese modern film productions, to Serbian filmgoers, for the first time.

From Dec 14 to 18, the audience has an opportunity to watch eight feature-length productions, starting with “White Snake,” a musical fantasy inspired by an ancient legend of timeless love.

The festival is organised by the Yugoslavian Cinematheque, in cooperation with China Film Archive and the Chinese Embassy in Serbia.

Among the movies are also, crime drama and thriller “Cliff Walkers” (2021), by internationally acclaimed director, Zhang Yimou, as well as, “My People, My Country” (2019), in which seven directors, including renowned, Chen Kaige, present a chronicle of technological and cultural achievements during seven decades, since the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

The Chinese Film Festival is another hallmark of the prosperous film cooperation – an important part of the cultural cooperation – between Serbia and China, the Yugoslavian Cinematheque said, in a press release.– NNN-XINHUA
