India’s Retail Inflation Eased To 5.88 Percent In Nov

NEW DELHI, Dec 13 (NNN-PTI) – India’s retail inflation eased to 5.88 percent in Nov, data released by the ministry of statistics and programme implementation (MoSPI), showed yesterday.

“The inflation, based on Consumer Price Index (CPI) in Nov is 5.88 percent,” said the data report. “It was 6.77 percent in Oct.”

Food inflation has eased to 4.67 percent in Nov, from 7.01 percent in Oct.

“The Consumer Food Price Index (CFPI) eased to 4.67 percent in the month of Nov. The CFPI in Oct was 7.01 percent,” said the data report.

According to officials, the price data are collected from selected 1,114 urban markets and 1,181 villages, covering all states through personal visits by field staff from the National Statistical Office (NSO), MoSPI, on a weekly roster.

In Nov, 2021, retail inflation was 4.91 percent, while food inflation was 1.87 percent.– NNN-PTI
