BRIDGETOWN, Dec 12 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) — The cruise company P&O Cruises will officially baptize its newest ship, the Arvia, in Barbados on March 16 next year at an unprecedented ceremony, NationsNews daily reported on Sunday.
With a capacity for 1,200 passengers, it will be baptized at the beach with the participation of British artists and presenters, an event that will be broadcast live for an international audience, this outlet reported.
P&O Cruises CEO Paul Ludlow said that their goal is to always do things differently and create unforgettable moments for current and future clients.
The Arvia, which will be launched in December, will spend its first season in the Caribbean, that is why being baptized at one of their favorite ports of call with a week of events and experiences on board is so appropriate.
The Arvia, with a crew of 1,800 people, will first leave for the Canary Islands to do a Christmas cruise and then will sail the Atlantic Ocean on its way to the Caribbean for the 2023-2024 winter season.
