SAN SALVADOR, Dec 11 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) — Press media in El Salvador highlighted the arrest of 12 police officers responsible for false operations, robberies and homicides in El Salvador.
According to the newspaper El Mundo, in five years the arrested agents made a total of 96 thousand dollars in robberies.
So far, 12 members of the National Civil Police (PNC) and one civilian were indicted by the authorities for allegedly being responsible of false police operations, robberies and even homicides, in events that occurred between 2018 and 2022, the publication said.
The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) assured that the captures were backed by ‘coordinated investigations between the FGR and the PNC’, in which they discovered that the 13 arrested ‘committed robberies, faked operations. Wearing their uniforms they subdued their victims, entered businesses, stole goods and money’.
The investigations points to at least 17 registered cases so far, the amount stolen from the victims amounts to 96,000 dollars’,detailed by the FGR, the newspaper quoted.
Thanks to the FGR’s diligences it was possible to determine that these subjects are also involved in various crimes committed between 2018 to date, including aggravated homicide, the Public Prosecutor’s Office indicated. — NNN-PRENSA LATINA
