The two citizens who will lead the Ministries of Transportation-Communications and Labor-Employment Promotion, respectively, are yet to be sworn in.
The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Government Palace in Lima.
Boluarte officially became President of the Republic last Wednesday after ex-President Pedro Castillo was constitutionally impeached and removed from office by Parliament.
In her televised Address to the Nation speech, Boluarte affirmed that she is fostering a government of national unity for all Peruvians, declaring that peace and tranquility are possible if everyone undertakes efforts.
“The government of national unity will be for all Peruvians,” she expressed, adding “a government of dialogue, consensus, economic growth, and social cohesion.”
The Head of State said she is respectful of citizens’ right to mobilization, as this is guaranteed by the Constitution, but always “respecting human rights and people’s integrity.”
The top official pointed out that the National Police of Peru “is clear about these orders.”
“Let us avoid conflicts that put our brotherhood as Peruvians at risk,” Boluarte said.
“I am attentive to social concerns and demand. Besides, I offer my open hand to meet fair claims,” she said, adding “a fraternal call for calm, tranquility, and social peace.”
The President affirmed “the consolidation of democracy, the rule of law, the balance of powers, and governability mark the essential guidelines” of her administration.
“With the help of all social sectors and political forces, we will once again regain the stability that our country requires and demands so much,” she noted.
After mentioning said topic, the Head of State reiterated that she assumed lead of this country for “having been part of a presidential formula that won the elections in June 2021.”
“It is not a blank check but a commitment to each one of you to leave the political crisis and the serious effects of the pandemic behind, continue reactivating the country, and attend to the most urgent needs, such as the drought, which threatens to affect agriculture,” she specified.
“That is our task and commitment,” she pointed out. — NNN-ANDINA
