BERLIN, Dec 10 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) — Germany’s Public Prosecutor’s Office informed that a court ordered preventive imprisonment for 23 of the people arrested in what was described as an attempted coup d’état.
The denounced plan included the overthrow of the Federal Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, and among the detainees is a former deputy of the ultra-right Alternative of Germany party and former members of the special assault forces, belonging to the extremist movement called ‘Reichsbürger’ (Citizens of the Reich).
The prosecutors also requested this Friday the extradition of two men arrested respectively in Austria and Italy, in the framework of the raid against the perpetrators of the alleged coup d’état.
Last Wednesday, 25 people were arrested in what is considered one of the largest police operations in German history, carried out in eleven federal states as well as in Italy and Austria. — NNN-PRENSA LATINA
