BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Dec 8 (NNN-ANN) – Brunei recorded an encouraging growth in air flight arrivals and departures, from Jan to Oct this year, with flight activity recording 4,732 movements, compared to 2,135 in the same period of 2021.
Minister of Transport and Infocommunications, Dato Seri Setia Shamhary said in his message, on International Civil Aviation Day, which fell yesterday, that, the movement of passengers also recorded strong growth with a total of 375,417 passengers in the first 10 months of 2022, compared to 36,107, during the same period the previous year.
The minister added that, cargo transportation recorded as much as 9,235 tonnes in the first 10 months of 2022, a growth of 16.3 percent, compared to the previous year for the same period.
The International Civil Aviation Day has been celebrated every Dec 7, since 1994 globally, to commemorate the establishment of the International Civil Aviation Organisation, a UN body responsible for maintaining global standards for aviation safety.– NNN-ANN
