ISLAMABAD, Dec 6 (NNN-APP) – A Pakistani soldier and five terrorists were killed, during an intelligence-based military operation in Pakistan’s north-west Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the military said in a statement, yesterday.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan army, said that, the operation was conducted in Jhallar Algad area of North Waziristan district of the province, to clear a hideout of terrorists.
During the operation, an intense fire exchange took place between the security forces and the terrorists. As a result, the soldier and five terrorists were killed.
Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the dead terrorists, said the statement, adding that, the killed terrorists used to be actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces and the killing of innocent citizens.
Operations were being carried out to eliminate any other terrorists in the area, said the statement.– NNN-APP
