HAVANA, April 13 (NNN-Prensa Latina) — Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel affirmed here that the aspiration of the United States government to destroy the Cuban Revolution with its renewed hostile policy has failed and will fail again.
In a message on the social network Twitter, the head of state of the Caribbean nation said the resurgence of the blockade, the economic war and the continued application of the Helms Burton Act, seek to overthrow the Revolution of the largest of the Antilles.
The day before, the director for the United States of the Cuban Foreign Ministry, Carlos Fernandez, warned the Helms-Burton Act represents a strong obstacle to any attempt to improve relations with the US government.
He added this is about complexity and objectives of an unprecedented regulation applied against any country.
A few days ago Cuba, through its Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez, rejected the actions of the national security adviser of the United States government, John Bolton, who seeks to aggravate the hostile policy of his country towards the island.
The head of Cuban diplomacy pointed out that Bolton, 59 years later, takes up the infamous Lester Mallory Memorandum and surpasses it in brutality, monroism and McCarthyism.
Intensifying the economic and commercial financial blockade of Havana is part of Washington’s current agenda.
Last week, US Vice President Mike Pence announced sanctions against 34 vessels owned or operated by Pdvsa (Petróleos de Venezuela), as well as two additional companies that transport crude oil to Cuba.
In the wake of Pence’s announcement, Foreign Minister Rodriguez called the new measures of Washington against Venezuela economic piracy, while affirming that 60 years of imperialist aggression against Cuba have not broken the will of the inhabitants of the island. — NNN-PRENSA LATINA
