Cuba-Caribbean Community Summit in December
HAVANA, Nov 29 (NNN-ACN) — Cuba and the Caribbean Community (Caricom) will hold their 8th Summit on Dec 6, in Barbados.
According to the Twitter account of the Cuban Foreign Ministry, the summit will mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and Jamaica, Guyana, Barbados and Trinidad-Tobago.
In the context of the 49th anniversary of the setting up of Caricom last July, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez affirmed his country’s commitment to further deepening relations with Caricom member states. You can always count on Cuba, he said.
Caricom was set up in 1973 and held its first summit in 2002 in Cuba. The bloc is made up of Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Haití, Jamaica, Montserrat, Saint Lucia, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Surinam and Trinidad-Tobago. — NNN-ACN
