YANGON, Nov 28 (NNN-MNA) – Myanmar’s authorities seized over 0.6 million ecstasy tablets worth over 28 billion kyats (13.3 million U.S. dollars) in Shan state, the state-run media, citing police sources, reported yesterday.
Acting on a tip-off, anti-narcotic police raided a house in Tachilek township of eastern Shan state, at around 10:30 a.m. local time on Nov 21, and confiscated the drugs.
During the operation, 113.04 kg of happy water, 35,000 tablets of Erimin-5, and a Honda vehicle were also confiscated from the house, it said.
The owner of the house was charged under the country’s Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, according to the media report.
