LIMA, Nov 24 (NNN-ANDINA) — The Ministry of Health (Minsa) reported that the number of confirmed monkeypox cases in Peru has risen to 3,444.
In its daily report, Minsa stated that cases were reported in Metropolitan Lima (2,631), Lima Provinces (42), Callao (231), La Libertad (158), Arequipa (143), Piura (47), Lambayeque (40), Ica (30), San Martin (25), Ucayali (24), Cusco (15), Loreto (13), Tacna (10), Junin (9), Ancash (8), Madre de Dios (6), Huanuco (5), Cajamarca (3), Moquegua (1), Puno (1), Ayacucho (1), and Tumbes (1).
Minsa reported 3,230 hospital discharges. Besides, all patients received medical care and are being monitored, as contacts are identified.
Meanwhile, the number of citizens infected with COVID-19 rose to 4,197,026 and the death toll stood at 217,287 in Peru as of Nov 21, Minsa reported.
Within this framework, 2,784 cases were detected and 4 people passed away due to the virus on the analyzed day.
32,013,643 samples tested negative for COVID-19 —out of a total of 36,210,669.
It must be noted that 4,067,742 people have been discharged and declared healthy. Other 218 were hospitalized.
85,650,927 doses of the vaccine against COVID-19 have been so far administered in Peru, Minsa said.
Out of that total, 25,763,580 were given as second dose, thus accounting for 90.15% of the target population. Within this framework, 20,963,777 citizens have been vaccinated with a third dose, accounting for 73.35% of the general population.
Similarly, 5,724,505 people have received the fourth dose. — NNN-ANDINA
