PUTRAJAYA, April 12 (Bernama) — I welcome the good news of the Supplementary Agreement signed between Malaysia Rail Link Sdn Bhd and China Communications Construction Company Ltd (CCCC) that will pave the way for the resumption of the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) project.
I also hope the CCCC will prioritise local contents in the construction of the project. A lot of materials made from Malaysian rubber can be used in the construction of the rail track as well as for seismic bearing, while Malaysian timber is suitable as rail sleepers.
