NAIROBI, Nov 21 (NNN-KBC) — Occupants of a residential building in Ruiru, Kiambu County have been forced to evacuate after a five-storey building they were living in developed cracks and said to be sinking.
The residents of the building located near Ruiru Police Station were ordered to move out by area Governor Kimani Wamatangi who was present during the evacuation exercise Sunday afternoon.
The Governor also ordered those in the neighbouring buildings to vacate within 45 minutes. The exercise is being supervised by the police officers from Kiambu County.
According to the residents, trouble started after they noticed huge cracks on the ground floor and alerted the authorities. — NNN-KBC
