KARACHI, Nov 17 (NNN-APP) – The 11th edition of the International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS), kicked off on Tuesday, at the Karachi Expo Centre in Pakistan’s southern port city of Karachi.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Pakistani Foreign Minister, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said, IDEAS is a shared vision for global peace, stability, and harmony among nations. IDEAS slogan ‘arms for peace’ truly reflects Pakistan’s principal stance in this regard.”
Director-General of the Defence Export Promotion Organisation, Muhammad Arif Malik, said that, over 300 delegates from 57 countries are attending the event, during the four-day show, representing almost all parts of the globe.
He said, IDEAS is organised for the latest technological demonstration of the national and international defence industry.
The expo is regarded as one of the international events for entrepreneurs, research and development specialists, financial experts, and top-level policymakers, to promote cooperation and knowledge-sharing in the field of defence and security, he added.
Pakistan has consistently been holding the biennial event since 2000. Only in 2020, the event did not take place, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.– NNN-APP
