Storm Nicole caused no serious damage in Antigua and Barbuda

SAINT JOHN, Nov 10 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) — Pelting rains coming from Storm Nicole are falling on Antigua and Barbuda, but without causing serious damage to local infrastructures, the National Civil Defense System reported on Wednesday.

This natural phenomenon is gathering clouds over our area, so if it continues moving to the west, humidity will persist, expert Letitia Humphreys told the press, while stressing that it is still raining in the neighboring islands of Saint Kitts and Nevis, and rainfall has affected most of the British Virgin Islands.

Floods have hit Dominica, Saint Lucia, the Dominican Republic and even Belize, The Daily Observer reported.

Nicole, which formed in the Atlantic Ocean on Monday, continued gaining force in Wednesday´s early hours and will soon become a hurricane, according to the latest update of the National Hurricane Center in Miami. — NNN-PRENSA LATINA
