HAVANA, Nov 9 (NNN-ACN) — Mexican citizens will send one thousand cookers to Cuban households who lost their property under the recent passage of hurricane Ian in the western section of the island, said Cuban ambassador to Mexico Marcos Rodriguez.
On his Twitter account, the Cuban diplomat extended his gratitude to the president of the Management Board of the Delher Group, Alfredo Delgado, who made the donation backed by the Va por Cuba Solidarity organization and the Jose Marti Association of Cubans residing in Mexico.
During the donation hand-in ceremony, the ambassador said that the donation, which arrive in Cuba soon, is crucial and will be handed over to the most affected households through the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution grassroots organization (CDR).
This gesture underscores the strong and unbreakable links of friendship and solidarity between the two nations, the ambassador noted.
On Sept 27 category-3 hurricane Ian battered the western Cuban province of Pinar del Rio inflicting huge damage in the energy, telecommunication systems, in agriculture and property. — NNN-ACN
