Brazil soaring exports of corn and soybeans
In October 2022 alone, Brazil shipped 6.24 million tons of corn, up from 1.87 million a year earlier, the data showed.

BRASILIA, Nov 8 (NNN-MERCOPRESS) — Brazil maize exports reached almost 32 million tons in the first ten months of the year, which is more than double the volume shipped in the same period in 2021, (14,5 million tons), according to the country’s National Association of Cereal Exporters, ANEC.

The amount also exceeds the 20.6 million tons exported in the twelve months of last year, when drought and frost hit the cereal crops, reducing the availability of grains to be shipped.

In October 2022 alone, Brazil shipped 6.24 million tons of corn, up from 1.87 million a year earlier, the data showed.

As to soybean shipments, Anec reported that 3.56 million tons were exported last month compared to 2.98 in October 2021. With the previous month’s results, the world’s largest producer and exporter of the oilseed has reached sales of 74.45 million tons in 2022.

“In October, Anec increased its soybean export forecast for 2022 to: 75.5 million tons,” said the association.

If the volume is confirmed, exports will total less than the 86.6 million tons shipped in 2021. This is because the La Niña weather phenomenon reduced output for the 2021/22 soybean crop.

Anec also reported that soybean meal exports reached 1.817 million tons in October compared to 1.337 million a year earlier, accumulating 17.7 million tons in 2022 – which exceeds the 16.8 million sent abroad throughout last year. — NNN-MERCOPRESS
