Cuba participates at World Travel Market travel fair

HAVANA, Nov 8 (NNN-ACN) — Cuba participates from Monday at the World Travel Market (WTM) travel fair in London, with the expectation of negotiating direct air operations with British and European tour operators.

Juan Carlos Garcia, Cuban minister of tourism, heads the Caribbean delegation made up of representatives of the main hotel chains, travel agencies and the Cuban tourist office in the United Kingdom.

Yaima Suarez, vice president of marketing of the Cubanacan hotel group, explained that the island seeks to promote new offers in Cayo Coco, other destinations and, above all, to recover the London-Holguin route.

Cuban chains Gran Caribe, Gaviota, Cubana de Aviacion and Cuba-based hotel groups like Roc Hotels, Blue Diamond, Iberostar, Melia, Muthu Hotels, Barcelo, Archipelago International and Havanatour UK are also present at the event, which is being held at the Excel Exhibition Center.

Tuesday, the event will host a summit of tourism leaders, who will discuss ways to boost the sector’s development in a sustainable way.

The 43rd edition of the WTM will be held over three days on-site, with the participation of some 3,000 exhibitors from more than 100 countries. — NNN-ACN
