Iraq Searched For 11 Missing In Baghdad Building Fire

BAGHDAD, Nov 8 (NNN-NINA) – Iraqi rescue teams, yesterday, continue to search for the 11 missing people, believed to have been buried in the rubbles of a building that was engulfed by a massive fire on Sunday in central Baghdad.

The huge fire broke out in a three-storey building, which contained warehouses storing flammable perfume, in the al-Waziriyah industrial area, said Mohsen Kadhim, assistant director-general of the Iraqi Civil Defence.

Two of the three-storey building collapsed, due to the fire, which was extinguished late on Sunday evening, said Kadhim.

Rescue teams are removing the rubbles, to search for the missing people at the scene, Kadhim said, adding that, the collapse of the two upper floors injured 10 members of the Civil Defence, including its Director-General, Kadhim Bohan.– NNN-NINA
