Bangladesh’s Oct Exports Fell 7.85 Percent

DHAKA, Nov 3 (NNN-BSS) – Bangladesh exported goods worth 4.36 billion dollars in Oct, which was 7.85 percent lower than the same month a year ago, according to the latest official data, yesterday.

However, the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) data, showed that, Bangladesh’s total exports in the first four months of the current 2022-23 fiscal year (Jul 2022-Jun 2023) reached nearly 17 billion U.S. dollars, up 7.01 percent year on year.

The EPB data showed, Bangladesh earned 16,853.51 million dollars from exports in the Jul-Oct period, compared to 15,749.48 million dollars in the same period a year earlier.

Of the total earnings, the EPB data showed, the country’s income from ready-made knitwear and woven garment items surged 10.55 percent to 13.95 billion dollars during the cited period.

Bangladesh saw exports soar more than 34 percent to 52.08 billion dollars in the 2021-22 fiscal year (Jul 2021-Jun 2022), official data showed.– NNN-BSS
