SYDNEY (Australia), Nov 2 (NNN-ANDINA) — The delegation, whose mission is to consolidate new mining investments in Peru during its participation in the International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC-2022), has already arrived in the Australian city of Sydney.
The group, made up of representatives from public and private sectors, will show executives of more than 800 companies around the world all our riches and mining experience during three days starting Nov 2.
Peru will rely on a large pavilion where various existing projects and investment possibilities in new deposits will be presented, delegation Chairman Carlos Castro said upon arrival in Sydney joined by Australian Ambassador to Peru, Maree Ringland.
Castro affirmed the agenda includes meetings with representatives of Australian METS (Mining Equipment, Technology and Services) —which bring together mining suppliers, companies that offer equipment, technologies, and a variety of innovative services for this sector.
“The GDP generated by Australian METS is 10 times higher compared to Peruvian ones, and we want to follow that example,” said the Australia-Peru Chamber of Commerce executive and Corporate Affairs manager at Las Bambas mining company.
On their first day of activities, the delegates were received by Peruvian Ambassador to Australia, Vitaliano Gallardo, who welcomed them and explained the work he carries out in that country.
There, the diplomat affirmed that he will join the IMARC 2022 team as it is an event declared of interest by the Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem).
They also held a meeting with Peruvian postgraduate and doctoral students in Sydney to exchange information and analyze the advances that can be applied in Peru’s mining industry.
Representing the public sector, the Peruvian delegation is composed of officials from Minem, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Peru’s Exports and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru), as well as the Geological, Mining and Metallurgical Institute (Ingemmet).
Representing the private sector are senior executives from three major mining companies: Macusani, Cerro Verde, and Las Bambas.
The delegation is also made up of supplier companies: Clean Technology and Agromin; mining clusters: SAMMI and Orica, plus technology development companies: Tumi Robotics and Linkminers. — NNN-ANDINA
