SEOUL, Nov 1 (NNN-YONHAP) – South Korea reported 58,379 new COVID-19 cases as of midnight, compared to 24 hours ago, raising the total number of infections to 25,615,667, the health authorities said today.
The daily caseload was up from 18,510 in the previous day and higher than 43,742 tallied a week earlier, according to the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency.
For the past week, the daily average number of new cases was 37,204.
Among the new cases, 68 were imported from overseas, lifting the total to 69,765.
The number of infected people who were in a serious condition stood at 288, unchanged from the previous day.
Thirty-three more deaths were confirmed, bringing the death toll to 29,209. The total fatality rate was 0.11 percent.– NNN-YONHAP
