Bangladesh Rescheduled Office Hours

DHAKA, Nov 1 (NNN-BSS) – The Bangladeshi government, yesterday, has again rescheduled the office time from Nov, following the previous change which was due to a power crunch.

The decision was made at a cabinet meeting, with Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina, in the chair, Cabinet Secretary, Khandker Anwarul Islam, told journalists.

He said, government offices and autonomous institutions will open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. instead of the seven hours from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The new schedule will take effect on Nov 15, said the official.

He said, the Supreme Court, Bangladesh Bank, and school and college administrations, will set their own schedule.

In an apparent bid to save electricity and ease traffic gridlock, energy-starved Bangladesh in Aug, reduced government office time by one hour.– NNN-BSS
