30 injured as minibus collided with truck in southern Afghanistan

QALAT, Afghanistan, Nov 1 (NNN-ANA) – A total of 30 people sustained injuries, as a minibus collided with a truck, in Afghanistan’s southern Zabul province yesterday, head of the province’s health department, Abdul Hakim Hakimi, said.

The accident, according to the official, took place in Mizan district, around noon, leaving 30 people injured, including five children and five women, with some of them in critical condition.

Confirming the road accident, Zabul police spokesperson, Zabihullah Jawhar, said, an investigation had been launched into it, without providing more details.

The state-run Bakhtar news agency reported that, the victims were going to attend a wedding party, when their minibus collided with the truck, coming from the opposite direction.

Reckless driving often leads to deadly traffic accidents in the country. A road accident claimed seven lives and injured nine others in the central Daykundi province on Saturday.– NNN-ANA
