LIMA, Nov 1 (NNN-ANDINA) — Peru’s Exports and Tourism Promotion (PromPeru) recently presented the report titled “Intenciones de viaje de los vacacionistas peruanos” (Travel intentions of Peruvian vacationers), within the framework of a new edition of ‘Turismo In Day’ —a virtual initiative that is developed bimonthly to provide strategic, specialized, and exclusive information to various actors in this sector.
“Among the main results presented is that 94% of Peruvians would choose to visit a domestic destination on their next trip; this is a trend that has been emerging worldwide after the pandemic,” PromPeru Executive-President Amora Carbajal expressed.
“These figures show that the same Peruvian travelers will play an essential role in boosting the tourism sector,” she added.
Regarding intention to travel, a 6% increase among younger age groups, especially that composed of generation Z members, was registered over May (from 46% to 52%).
On the other hand, 46% of Peruvians aged between 18 and 70 years might travel before the end of the year; 38% might choose a southern destination for their next trip; and 88% might leave their region of residence.
The most visited destination would be Cusco (20%), followed by Lima (10%), Arequipa (9%), and Piura (8%).
“We are confident that the presented study will strengthen the commercial strategies of participants in Turismo In Day,” the official said.
Turismo In Day is a PromPeru initiative developed by the Tourist Intelligence and Prospective Subdirectorate.
This way, PromPeru responds to the commitment to promote the sector’s competitiveness by sharing exclusive and specialized information through presentations and seminars with businesspeople, students, and other professionals interested in tourism.
Turismo In Day also offers the public a free subscription for monthly newsletters, which —through videos, articles, and infographics— address the latest trends in the sector. It also has a daily news delivery service via WhatsApp. In addition, by this means, Turismo In clears doubts about this sector to users for free. — NNN-ANDINA
