BRASILIA, Oct 30 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) — The campaigns of candidates Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and Jair Bolsonaro chose capitals in southeastern Brazil to close on Saturday their last political events before the runoff slated for Sunday.
Lula, Workers’ Party (PT) candidate, will lead from 16:00, local time, the so-called Victory Walk along the symbolic Paulista Avenue in the central region of Sao Paulo.
Next to the Sao Paulo Art Museum buidling, the march will feature wings symbolizing the great challenges the country will face starting next year: labor, health care, education, environment, inflation, housing and human rights.
Meanwhile, Bolsonaro, who is seeking re-election for the Liberal Party, led a motorcycle parade in Belo Horizonte, capital of Minas Gerais (southeast).
The motorcycle parade started in the morning hours of Saturday from Alvaro Antônio Avenue, in the Barreiro neighborhood, and continued to Praça da Liberdade, in the Savassi region.
On Friday, both candidates staged a last debate on TV Globo in which both accused each other on foreign policy, minimum wage, corruption and abortion.
According to analysts, the PT leader won the debate by speaking as a true statesman with measured words.
Anyhow, the results of the Sunday runoff is hard to call. — NNN-PRENSA LATINA
