LIMA, Oct 30 (NNN-ANDINA) — Peru continues to rank as one of the best tourist places around the world.
In fact, the prestigious publication National Geographic has placed our country on its list of best destinations to visit next year (2023), Peru’s Exports and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru) said.
The choice of the best destinations falls into five categories: nature, adventure, culture, community, and family.
With each selection, the purpose is to honor an outstanding destination that offers a relevant story to tell the following year.
Within this framework, the Choquequirao archaeological complex, located in Cusco region, has been named one of the five must-see adventure destinations for international tourists in 2023.
“For Peru, it is great news to learn that we are part of the prestigious list of the best world destinations of National Geographic, since this enables us to give greater impetus to the work that PromPeru has been carrying out, aimed at the recovery of tourism and the strengthening of our country’s image,” PromPeru Executive-President Amora Carbajal expressed.
It must be noted that National Geographic Traveler’s international editorial teams —the same ones that serve millions of readers of their magazines and websites in more than a dozen offices around the world— participate in the creation and preparation of said list.
International awards: The recognition by National Geographic is in line with the distinctions that our country has recently obtained.
In the regional edition of the World Travel Awards 2022, Peru won three accolades: Leading Culinary Destination, Leading Cultural Destination, and Leading Tourist Attraction in South America.
Peru has received six nominations in the global edition of the World Travel Awards (WTA) 2022. The corresponding event will take place in November. — NNN-ANDINA
