Honduran Government to deliver food to families in extreme poverty

TEGUCIGALPA, Oct 20 (NNN-Prensa Latina) — The Government of Honduras, headed by President Xiomara Castro, will deliver food boxes in November to families in extreme poverty, it was announced here.

For this purpose, the Honduran Executive approved an investment of 30 million lempiras (1,219,555 dollars), which will serve to address extreme poverty in more than 2,000 villages nationwide, local media reported.

According to Canal Ocho, associated with the Government, Suplidora Nacional de Productos Basicos (Banasupro) signed a new interinstitutional agreement with the Red Solidaria Program to prepare the donation.

This is my first agreement as Minister of Red Solidaria and it is made with Banasupro because the first thing is food, without food people cannot develop, the head of the program, Marissela Figueroa, said.

For her part, Banasupro Manager Aida Reyes pointed out that they will comply with the agreement in the most transparent way to benefit the families identified by Red Solidaria.
