LIMA, Oct 20 (NNN-ANDINA) — Peru’s Council of Ministers session is exploring issues of national interest in the fields of health, work, and infrastructure, among others, Pres Pedro Castillo said.

In a message on his official Twitter account, the Head of State highlighted the work carried out by the Executive Branch. The post was accompanied by the following statement: “Working for the people.”

Moreover, Castillo said that one of the projects under evaluation is the one referring to an extraordinary subsidy to promote the hiring of young people —aged between 18 and 29 years— in the private sector.

This initiative is part of the Peru Boost Plan, which aims to reactivate and enhance sustained economic growth, and promote the generation of jobs.

The session also evaluates the bill to declare of national interest and public necessity the “Historic Center of Lima – Cerro San Cristobal” project, as well as the status of the Huancayo-Huancavelica Railway, New Central Highway, and Tarata Bridge projects.

“Among the health issues discussed are the administration of COVID-19 vaccines, the acquisition of monkeypox vaccines, and the vaccination against polio,” he added.

The Council of Ministers session started at 9 am Wednesday at the Executive Branch headquarters in Lima, the Press Secretary of the Government Palace reported.

On Tuesday, Castillo held a meeting with discharged soldiers of the Armed Forces at the Government Palace in Lima.

At the meeting, he remarked that he is respectful of democracy and institutions, stating that his administration will remain firm until July 28, 2026, “whether they like it or not, because that is democracy.” — NNN-ANDINA
