Pakistan’s Food Exports Up By Over Five Percent In Q1 Of 2022-23

ISLAMABAD, Oct 20 (NNN-APP) – Pakistan’s food exports in the first quarter of the current 2022-2023 fiscal year went up by 5.70 percent, as compared to the same period last year, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) yesterday.

The exports of various food commodities were recorded at 1,077.83 million U.S. dollars, during the Jul-Sept period of the ongoing fiscal year, against the exports of 1,019.68 million dollars, in the same period of the previous fiscal year, according to PBS data.

Meanwhile, on a year-on-year basis, the exports of food commodities witnessed a nominal decrease of 1.26 percent, and were recorded at 354.82 million dollars in Sept, against the exports of 359.33 million dollars in Sept, 2021, according to the PBS figures.

On a month-on-month basis, the exports of food commodities decreased by 3.31 percent in Sept, 2022, when compared to the exports of 366.95 million dollars in Aug, 2022.

The food commodities that contributed to positive growth in trade included vegetables, pulses, fish and fish preparations, and meat, the PBS data showed.– NNN-APP
