COLOMBO, Oct 16 (NNN-XINHUA) – At least 44 people were injured in Sri Lanka yesterday, after a truck collided with a bus carrying passengers.
The accident took place in Sri Lanka’s Northern Province, along the busy A9 road.
According to police, the truck crashed into the bus, when the bus made a sudden turn.
The bus was carrying close to 50 passengers, police said.
The injured passengers and the bus driver were admitted to Jaffna, Pallai and Kilinochchi hospitals, for treatment.
The driver of the truck had been arrested, police said.– NNN-XINHUA
