Bomb Threat Received For Delhi-Bound Flight Found To Be Hoax

NEW DELHI, Oct 14 (NNN-PTI) – Security agencies at New Delhi’s international airport went into a tizzy, in the wee hours of today, as a threat was received regarding a bomb kept inside an incoming flight from Moscow.

Later, the threat was found to be a hoax.

“The threat was received through an email at the Airport Operation Control Centre’s (AOCC) email ID,” confirmed a senior official of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), that provides security at all airports in the country.

“Efforts are being made to find out the email sender’s location,” added the official.

Bomb disposal squads and rescue teams also arrived at the airport. As soon as the flight landed at New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, all the passengers and crew members were deboarded safely, and the flight was thoroughly searched, the Delhi Police reportedly said, in a statement.

Media reports quoted the Delhi Police as saying, the flight landed in Delhi at around 03:20 a.m. local time.

The plane landed safely and was checked. No bomb was found, according to the statement.

According to media reports, there were 386 passengers and 16 crew members onboard Flight Number SU 232. The hoax call regarding the bomb in the flight was reportedly received at 23:15 on Thursday.– NNN-PTI
