Malaysia’s Natural Rubber Production Fell 3.8 Percent In Aug

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 14 (NNN-BERNAMA) – Malaysia’s natural rubber production decreased by 3.8 percent to 36,411 tonnes in Aug, from 37,843 tonnes in Jul, official data showed today.

The year-on-year comparison also showed that, the production of natural rubber fell 15.2 percent, the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) said, in a statement.

According to DOSM, the production of natural rubber in Aug for Malaysia was mainly contributed by the smallholder sector, which accounts for 87.5 percent, compared to the estate sector at 12.5 percent.

Exports of Malaysia’s natural rubber climbed 11.9 percent to 60,170 tonnes in Aug, from 53,752 tonnes in Jul.

The main destinations for natural rubber exports are China, Iran, Germany, U.S., and Turkiye.

Total stocks of natural rubber in Aug slipped 8.1 percent to 209,491 tonnes, as compared to 228,039 tonnes in Jul.– NNN-BERNAMA
