Malaysia Reported 1,453 New COVID-19 Infections, Two More Deaths

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 10 (NNN-BERNAMA) – Malaysia recorded 1,453 new COVID-19 infections as of midnight, bringing the total tally to 4,854,976, according to the health ministry.

There were eight new imported cases and 1,445 local transmissions, data released by the ministry showed.

Two new deaths were reported from the pandemic, lifting the death toll to 36,400.

The ministry reported 1,800 new recoveries, taking the total number of COVID-19 patients cured and discharged from hospitals to 4,795,804, in the country.

Currently there are 22,772 active cases, with 37 of them being held in intensive care units and 22 in need of assisted breathing.

The country reported 432 vaccine doses administered yesterday, and that 86.1 percent of the population have received at least one dose, 84.2 percent are fully vaccinated, 49.7 percent have received a first booster dose and 1.6 percent have received a second booster dose.– NNN-BERNAMA
