Iran Says U.S. Sanctions Hurt Iranians’ Health

TEHRAN, Oct 9 (NNN-IRNA) – Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Nasser Kanaani, said yesterday, Iranian officials and individuals had been indiscriminately targeted by Washington’s unprecedented sanctions, which affected the livelihoods, jobs, and health of the Iranians.

In an Instagram post, Kanaani wrote that, “every day, a new list of sanctions against Iran is issued under an excuse. This time, the Iranian interior minister, the minister of communications and five other Iranian officials were sanctioned by the U.S. government.”

Even the children, suffering from epidermolysis bullosa (EB) were not exempted from the “unilateral, illegal, tyrannical sanctions,” he noted.

On Thursday, the U.S. Treasury Department issued new sanctions against Ahmad Vahidi and Eisa Zarepour, Iran’s Interior and Communications Ministers, respectively, as well as, five other Iranian security officials, over what it called the “suppression of protests,” following the death of a young girl in police custody in the capital Tehran.– NNN-IRNA
