Palestinian Officials Call On Israel To Stop Killing Palestinians In West Bank

RAMALLAH, Oct 4 (NNN-WAFA) – Palestinian officials, yesterday, called on Israel to stop its “dangerous and irresponsible” policy of killing Palestinians in the West Bank.

Nabil Abu Rudeineh, spokesman of the Palestinian presidency, made the remarks, following the earlier Israeli killing of two Palestinians and wounding of a third, in the Al-Jalazone refugee camp, north of the West Bank city of Ramallah.

He said in a press statement that, the Palestinian presidency condemns the killings of the Palestinians.

Palestinian Prime Minister, Mohammed Ishtaye, yesterday told the weekly meeting of the Palestinian cabinet in Ramallah that, the Palestinian Authority rejects the Israeli escalation in the West Bank.

“The exacerbation of grave violations of Palestinian human rights, the latest of which was the killing of the two young men in Al-Jalazone refugee camp, is rejected,” he said in a statement.

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry said in a statement yesterday that, “we hold the Israeli government fully and directly responsible for this crime,” calling on the international community “to break its silence regarding the blood and suffering of the Palestinians.”

Yesterday morning, two Palestinians were murdered, and a third was critically injured, by Israeli soldiers, north of the central West Bank city of Ramallah, Palestinian security sources and eyewitnesses said.

An Israeli army spokesman said in a press statement that, Israeli soldiers shot two Palestinians dead near Ramallah, in the pre-dawn hours of Monday, after they attempted to run over soldiers, during an arrest raid in the area.

The two were killed while allegedly attempting to “carry out a ramming attack” towards the soldiers, who were raiding the Jalazone refugee camp, to apprehend a person suspected of “terror activity,” the Israeli military said in a statement earlier in the day.

The incident was the latest in six-month-long Israeli raids in the occupied West Bank, following a series of street attacks in Israel. The raids often trigger clashes and result in the deaths of dozens of unarmed Palestinians, at the hands of the Israeli soldiers.– NNN-WAFA
