GUATEMALA CITY, Oct 2 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) — Guatemala´s Public Health Ministry (MSPAS) on Saturday confirmed three new cases of monkeypox, bringing total to 30.
The three men aged 30, 31 and 30 years, two of them are residents of Guatemala City and the other in Quetzaltenango. The first patient experienced symptoms on Sept 24 and the second one on Sept 22. Both received primary healthcare services at hospital.
The third patient was located at the Social Security and experienced symptoms on Sept 23.
At this moment, all of them are at-home screening by MSPAS professionals and in coordination with Social Security doctors.
There is no relation among them, nor with those previously confirmed, MSPAS pointed out in its Saturday´s report.
The health institution specified that, out of the total number of cases, 15 of them have already been recovered, 39 have been discarded.
The MSPAS also called on population to take extreme hygienic measures to avoid the spread of the disease, whose main symptoms include rashes in the face, inside the mouth and in other parts of the body, as well as fever, swollen lymph nodes, headache, muscle and body pain. — NNN-PRENSA LATINA
