ISLAMABAD, Sept 30 (NNN-APP) – Pakistan’s seafood exports went up by over 52 percent in the first two months of the current fiscal year 2022-2023, compared to the same period of the last fiscal year, according to figures from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), yesterday.
The seafood exports were recorded at 37.94 million U.S. dollars in the Jul-Aug period, of the ongoing fiscal year, showing a growth of 52.07 percent year on year, the PBS figures showed.
In terms of quantity, the exports surged by 42.56 percent from 11,128 metric tonnes in Jul and Aug of 2021, to 15,864 metric tonnes in Jul and Aug this year, according to the PBS statistics.
On a year-on-year basis, the seafood exports increased by 81.36 percent to 19.44 million dollars in Aug, from the exports of 10.72 million dollars during Aug, 2021, the data showed.
On a month-on-month basis, the seafood exports increased by 5.02 percent in Aug, when compared to the exports of 18.51 million dollars in Jul, the PBS said.– NNN-APP
