NEW DELHI, Sept 29 (NNN-PTI) – India’s daily COVID-19 caseload, today, increased to 4,272, data from the federal health ministry showed.
The cases reported today marked an increase in comparison to the daily caseload of 3,615 yesterday.
With the reporting of fresh cases, India’s total tally of coronavirus infections reached 44,583,360, while active caseload stands at 40,750.
The country also logged 27 related deaths during the past 24 hours, pushing the overall death toll to 528,611 since the beginning of the pandemic, the ministry said.
The daily positivity rate stands at 1.35 percent and the weekly positivity rate was recorded at 1.51 percent, the ministry data showed.
The ministry said, so far, 44,013,999 people have been successfully cured and discharged from hospitals, of whom 4,474 were discharged during the past 24 hours.
According to the health ministry, the cumulative COVID-19 vaccination coverage in the country has exceeded two billion doses and until this morning, 2,181,794,748 doses were administered.
At present the Indian government is focusing on improving booster dose coverage, as the uptake for the third dose has been low.
